OK,back on topic sort of
In Fridays paper, they test the new Epoke.
Quote "The Evoque catalogue bewilders with 26 versions and 19 pages of options."
and "the brand will address this with a simplified range in the next 12 months"
The vehicle they tested had $19 560 in extras, total cost $106,050
It appears even adaptive CC is an extra at $1340,digital radio $400,head up display $1300,multi mode shocks,$1950(what ever they are),etc, etc.
Talk about confusing customers
I hope they well and truly get this sorted before the release of the new Defender.
Maybe they need to look at the way the competition, mainly the big T market and price their vehicles![]()
The D4 and D3 was so heavy it had it's own gravity as Clarkson says. 4 star in that is massively protective. Remember that Audi A4 that collided at high speed front on with a D3....The A4 was in so many parts...it exploded in effect. D3 female passenger had a broken hip...Pretty much all.the injuries in the D3. I have seen other D3s and 4s in accidents and they are the strongest LR in crashes that i ever saw.
Cheers
Looks like they are listening to dealers/journos.
I'm pro choice, I hope it doesn't end up we are forced to have things we don't want/need.

“One of my key priorities has been simplifying the offer. Really getting back to basics. Getting back to the sweet spot of what Australian customers want to buy.
Land Rover to simplify model ranges and cull options - Car News | CarsGuide
As to how this range simplification could be achieved, Cameron suggested that optional items could be rolled into standard features, upping the price of existing variants, or have options packaged together.
Exactly,the new E poke has 6 engine choices,i don't know how many the D5 has,maybe 4?
Its way too confusing for the customer,in fact if you look at the Jap opposition, most only have two engines available in their range.
They also have very few 'option packs',compared with LR.
I was looking at the full spec sheets for a number of LR models today. Current D5 has *two* engine choices – the I4 2.0 diesel or V6 3.0 diesel. That’s it. Here’s a link to the D5 details:

RRS has a bunch more options. Even the Disco Sport has at least five engine choices.
