Yes centre diff with optional rear ediff, so same as D4.

That’s no dog ramp,it’s for wheeling a load of topsoil into the back with the wheelbarrow

Not needed for our dog,she can jump over the D4 tailgate.

    observations re new defender

    1. Funny with all the options available for the new defender there is no manual version just auto
    2. the models with the front centre seat, head rest way too high needs to be able to fold down or be inline with driver and pass seat head rests
    3. love the look of the front and sides, hate the rear light arrangements
    4. steel wheel, diff wheel size and coil suspension options are great options, choices
    5. 85 ecu's would be a nightmare in any vehicle
    6. interesting move from paint to wrap on the vehicles
    7. nice they kept the 90 and 110 versions even though they are larger
    8. pity about the prices, there really is no more budget new LR for sale anymore, anywhere
    9. headlights are huge improvement and look good as is the styling
    10. has a full size spare mounted on back door, huge plus

    1. There's no way that vehicle could work with a manual. The 8-speed auto and all its computers are key to much of the traction capability and its fuel economy.
    2. Why? If you're worried about the mirror, the jump seat requires you to also take the fancy mirror upgrade which doubles as a screen for the rear vision camera in the shark fin.
    3. Beer holder*
    4. Yep!
    5. Nah, not a worry in itself. As long as there's good programming centrally to coordinate them, and good wiring to keep them all communicating, they'll be fine.
    6. It's a clear wrap on top of the metallic paint.
    7. Yep!
    8. Yep
    9. Beer holder*
    10. Definitely the best choice for an off-road oriented vehicle.

It looks OK apart from rear lights and front face. I like the interior. Hopefully an after market grill and a bullbar can fix the front up.

If they make a PHEV variant with around 50km pure EV range I would consider buying one. The misses could use the EV range to commute to work during the week, and I would use it for occasional tow duties and weekend get aways.

I don't see it as a defender replacement though. I'd have the Pretender 110 replace the Disco.

Here's my questions to my dealer and the response after checking with higher ups.

Q.Some of the options for example the bash plate and winch accessory kit (but no winch) mentioned available mid-2020.. does this mean that if we included those options the order would be delayed until then? or will those options be sent to the dealer when they are available and fitted

A.These are dealer fit and I understand from our accessory colleagues there are no delays on these parts.

    Q. I noticed for these six cylinder petrol the smallest rim size you can option is 19 inch. Can you order 18 inch rims for the straight six petrol or can they be fitted after like the disco 5, if this would not be possible which models will it be not be possible on?

    A. Correct, SE 240PS 177kw Diesel is the highest output engine the steel rims can be optioned on. The i6 Petrols start on 19” Alloy rims

Q.I noticed there is no tyre option yet on the release there are mud terrains shown, and I believe there was supposed to be an option of either mud terrain or all terrain tyres? Is it possible to order with mud terrain tyres I like the one in Germany.

A.Defender 110 comes with ‘Off Road’ Tyres as standard*With tyre/rim choices Australia have ‘off road’ tyres as standard for 18”, 19” and 20“.
22” *do not come with ‘off road’ tyres.
    *
    Off Road Tyres (030IF)
    Example
    Goodyear All Terrain Adventure
    Tread Depth 9.5mm
    Speed Rating H (Vmax 210kph)
    Size 18”, 19” and 20”
    *
    All Season tyres (Optional) (030IA)
    Example
    Michelin Latitude Tour HP
    Tread Depth 7.5mm
    Speed Rating V (Vmax 240kph)
    Size 18”, 19”, 20” & 22”
    *
    Aftermarket fit
    Off Road
    Goodyear Duratrac
    Tread Depth 12.5mm
    Speed rating Q (Vmax 160kph)
    Size 18” & 20”
    *
Just for your information the tyre choice will affect the roof load capability under dynamic conditions. The more grip (All Season) the lower max dynamic roof load. The less road grip
(Off Road) the higher max dynamic roof load.
    *
110 – All Season Tyres – Static roof load 300kg, max dynamic roof load 100kg.
110 – Off Road Tyres – Static roof load 300kg, max dynamic roof load 168kg.

    Q. Also I noticed the side ladder which is showing and all the advertising and in Germany was not available in the options list or options packs. Is this available to order?

    A. Will be available as a dealer fit.

Q.I noticed winches and tube bumpers have been showing on Pilots and winches are showing on lots of the advertising yet it doesn't seem to be available to order? Can we order this?

A.Winch and the Australian bull bar are available to order locally dealer fit, however bull bar stock will be on hand from Jan 2020. All will be available by the time the cars arrive

Q.I noticed they released a fabric fold back roof however this did not show up in the options. Can we order this?

    A. No, *NA at this point

Q.Are SVO paint options available for the new Defender

    A.No not at this stage

Q.What additional options for the new defender will be released next year and when?

A.All accessories are currently on the website, unfortunately I have no other information at this stage.

I have a few more questions but this covers most for me, hope this helps.

Particularly interesting is the tires and roof load rating.

Also for those that want to go to the petrol 6, it will be interesting to see if aftermarket 18 inch wheels fit.
If not what good 19 inch tyre options are available.

I do really like the look of the 110 at reveal on 20s, and with 2 inches bigger tyres that could work too.

First preference would be aftermarket 18s.

Second would be best aggressive tyre on 19s.

Third option would be biggest tyre I could fit on 20s.
