Never seen so much negativity towards more storage spaceI think it could be quite handy, be a perfect recovery gear storage area
Neither the ladder or the silly pannier are essential items for the desert or anywhere else. They are gimmicks.

I was interested to see the new Defender is already being advertised on car sales. Pretty amazing really, since it isn't released yet.

It is an SUV.
Probably the best SUV you can buy in 2020.
All Land Rovers are now SUV’s. Not work vehicles. Maybe the commercial version won’t be an SUV, we’ll see.
All Defenders are constant AWD (with centre diff and permanently locked front hubs). This is one of the features that has always made Defender superior to Land Cruiser IMO. AWD is better than 4WD as it works on bitumen. True 4WD requires difflocks and is not AWD on hard surfaces. That being said, AWD is not all wheels driving at once, but traction control solves this.
The pics say ‘not actual vehicle’ so they’re just fishing. What I find odd is that it’s a 2019 model that isn’t available until 2020.
The SE looks good, but with 18” alloys, and should have leather for that price. Just a pity I don’t have a $100k.
I can’t see the difference btw the base and S spec. I suspect the engine outputs are actually different.

Blue model spotted in the wild.

Interesting article that just shows how much of an opportunity the New Defender will have when compared to what is on offer in the US, but at the same time how much more marketing will be needed.
15 of the Best Large SUVs on the Market for 2020
For JLR to not get a mention is telling when compared to what is listed. Even the New Discovery deserved to be in this list ahead of some of the alternatives.
