$7k is the difference. I have settled on the D300. As many have already stated the diesel drives very well and you get a big benefit when doing long distances or towing. Plus the $7k buys me alot of after delivery options

95Ron is min recommended but I was told it will run better on 98RON.

Agreed, but I have been convinced to go with the eDiff.

For reference I have now settled on a configuration after lots of reading and helpful input.

Defender 110 SE D300 with 20" wheels (5094), air suspension, active diff, H/C seats, clear sight rear view, 11.4" touch screen, Advance off-road Capability pack and tow hitch. The only luxury item is the H/C seats, have to have some upgrade from my current car and the idea of a cooled seat in 40+deg days just seems nice. Only item I wanted at the start was the white roof with Pangea Green, but $2k for a white roof is not going to happen. Might look at a white wrap at a later date or just be happy with the fact my wife has accepted I want to spend this amount of money on a 4x4.

One final question, the Dealer in Perth has told me that they are not offering any dealer delivery discount with the corporate package. If this something this dealer is doing or a JLR directive. I read the terms of the corporate package and it states a reduction in DD based on model purchased from $1400 to $1900.

I do have the option to ask the Bunbury dealer for a quote but am not expecting any reduction in price as they can't make Defender quick enough to meet demand.

Is there an option to expand the interior?

I got up close and personal with a Defender 110 recently and couldn't believe how small the interior is compared to my D4!

Its a pity that LR didn't just use the D4 body, or at least the profile, and re-badge it as the Defender.

Bloody nice. If I was ordering new today that's very close to what I'd likely opt for. Will get you just about anywhere in this huge country with enviable comfort and ease.

We've paid a huge price in usable space in order for JLR to meet mandatory fuel efficiency and safety regulations. Rectangular prisms are best for loadspace but terrible for aerodynamics and pedestrian impacts. On top of that, the reality that a lot of buyers for this brand are more style-conscious than practical has taken us a little further away from maximum utility.

That said, the spare wheel came out from underneath to give more clearance and make it more practical to use in rough terrain. That necessarily shortened the boot and I for one am totally fine with that particular compromise. And like I've said before: the key to maximising the new Defender is to utilise the roof. It has more than double the load rating of the D4 with 168kg on road.

There's a lot of smoke signals spelling out "130" too. Maybe that'll be more to your liking if/when it shows up.

Looks like a great spec. Instead of wrapping the roof in white at some stage, what about ordering a white one and wrapping everything but the roof in pangea green? That would also save a few $$$.

I ordered my Defender earlier this year and was able to get fleet pricing through work (novated lease). Maybe give that a try.

check the corporate plan to ensure it does not state on Selected models, rather than on all new LR vehicles.
Our corporate plan said on all new Land Rover purchases and i managed to hold JLR to it, got 10% against
the vehicle and factory fit options, reduced delivery costs and the 5 year servicing as standard

We noticed that as well, the rear loadspace is way to small for us touring, particularly after having a D4 for almost 10yrs.
Using a RTT,also means nothing else can go onto the roof.

The 130 cant come quick enough, but I haven't heard much about it lately.

Small update the 11.4” screen upgrade option is now only available on the HSE and X models.

Have also hit a road block as i refuse to sign a contract with my trade-in being valued just before the car is delivered and effectively having no say in the price on the contract apart from the abilty to remove the trade-in or sell it privately. Has everyone faced this same problem? And i the only one that thinks this is an crap position to be in? I will give the regional dealer a go in WA but looks like no defender for me, what i cant understand is the trade-in offered was under the red book price so its not like i wanted top price i felt it was already discounted but not how the car yard sees it.
