    Defender dual cab

    Was at a drive day at Millbrook where drove a Ford Range Raptor and a Defender back to back

    The Ranger was OK worked hard all the time and a little on the noisy from engine, wind and road noise from the drivers seat

    Defender had a lot more torque and held the road much better so was a more relaxing ride

    This was confirmed when followed the Ranger over the alpine course in the Defender. I was constantly holding back as was catching the Ranger without trying

    I know the Defender was never intended as a commercial vehicle as that is not a part of the market Land Rover values anymore however makes me think that a dual cab Defender would have a place in the market if they could price it competitively. Design would have to have a separate rear body so could swap out the back for a tray

    Land Rover has never had a competitively priced vehicle, ever.

    Why do you think people bought the SWB Tojos back in the 70's?

    Because they were something like $2k cheaper than a SWB S111.

    And it has always been that way.

    Two different vehicles,like comparing an apple to an orange.

    And over here,an SE 110,and a couple of ticks in the accessories boxes,will be around twice the price of the other.

    So it should be twice as good....

    Not true, I paid $49,990 drive away for my 2013 130 HCPU..Im still kicking myself for not buying 2!! Still got it, 285,000km and driven hard every day in forestry work

    IMHO...
    The Defender (classic?) 2007 - 2016 were priced dam good at round that $50K. No other full sized 4x4 was ever priced that good.
    It prolly was the best selling Defender model ever made.

    Maybe the Grenadier will be the answer to a decent commercial full sized 4x4 when the likes of the Land Cruiser 76/79 series finally disappears.
