That's going to make you pretty lonely on this thread. AFAIK you are the only responder that has a 663. I have plenty of "direct experience' of D1s.

I'm not sure why there would be any difference between years Tins, but my RRS states NOT to jump ( with another car) battery packs only...

I quite like those little capacitor ones...

My D1 doesn't care. Even if I do leave the parking lights on. At least in that case its my own fault. My D2 doesn't seem to care either, although one can never be sure with a D2. It is, however, the most jump started vehicle I have ever owned. I can leave it for weeks on end and it's fine, and then I'll have a period of days when it goes flat overnight.

Yes, modern cars can be different, and there can definitely be issues with jump starting with the more highly strung amongst them, which I'm sure you'll agree includes more recent LRs. I'm sure there is a similar warning in the book of my neighbour's Kia something or other, but it jumps just fine when her 2YO plays with the button that makes the pretty dash lights come on.

My comment about a D1 as a jump pack was obviously TIC. Well, it was obvious to me. I wouldn't consider offering a jump to a car such as a L663. I think tow companies make far too much money as it is from cars like my D2, which has been on a few, to give them business because I've fried some obscure, inaccessible but vital gizmo that costs a gazillion $$$ to replace, and has a long waiting list.

Amazing, aren't they? I laughed when I first saw one. Then the RAC guy jumped my dead flat OKA. Not laughing now. Dunno if that was capacitor or Li-On, but I reckon it could jump start the Queen Mary.

Laughed even less when I discovered that the black, rubber coated button on the dash that I was ignorant of actually bridged the house batt to the start batt and the thing could jump start itself...

The L663 can be jump started from other ("donor") vehicles and "starter packs" according to the handbook.
