That's annoying but at least you could put it back the way it was before the update, unlike my Android phone that lost the ability to display the time to the next alarm on the homescreen during an update.

OS 4.4.1 was just offered to me

So have started the installation of OS 4.4.1

The notes are vague: improvements to security and communications

When I googled to find out more - nothing further found.

But I did see on the international site that 4.4.2 is live for some people. The notes for defender reference fixes to powertrain and transmission addressing the harshness in gear changes at low speeds (Diesels only) and manual gear shifting behaviour changes when in offroad terrain modes

(edit: 4.4.1 install completed, no issues)

    OS 4.4.2

This morning my D250 S 110 greeted me with the offer to upgrade to OS 4.4.2. Did the install with no issues reported. Took it for a short run (19min, 14km), not long enough to be sure of anything but all seems to be working fine.

    The release notes:
    Defender

    New software update available.

This update brings enhancements and refinements to the following systems, where applicable:

    - Transmission improvements when manoeuvring at low speeds in (Diesel vehicles only)
    - Update to Manual shift behavior when switching between Drive and Sport whilst in Off-Road Terrain Modes
    - Refined powertrain characteristics in high crosswind conditions.

This update also brings bug fixes, diagnostic and general performance improvements to the following systems where applicable:

    - Powertrain
    - Transmission

PHEV only: Please note that for a short period of time, you may experience some disruption in the EV capabilities after the update has completed. Please disconnect the vehicle charger and ensure the battery has a minimum charge level of 25% before starting the update.

My P400SE finally updated over the weekend. I was still getting the "update not completed, battery voltage too low" message (car has not been used much over the last 4 weeks),however with the message still persisting after a drive had me hooking up the trickle charger again and having to wait for a suitable battery charge before updating.

I got the successful update noti, but it disappeared from the screen too quick for me to read what the update included.

I will be contacting JLR to have them check out the BSIG, the recall was done, but I suspect its not charging the vehicle properly, as even after a 2hour drive, (including sustained highway speeds) I occasionally still get the battery low, please start vehicle" message.

Eric it might be worth looking at Drivesafe's advice with regards to charging in this thread:
