I posted this review on 4x4earth, the anti LR hate speech is alive and well, some people must have peanut size brains for some of the predictable replies
No surprise the Defer comes out on top, LR products have been doing that for years, I wish they could just make them without the niggles and issues that continue to pop up, although my D4 is now 10 years old and 130,000km without a single issue so its possible the reliability is just overstated caused by years of the same

I've been driving 4wd vehicles for more than 60yrs.

the first 20 no one gave a **** what 4wd we owned and around that time , say mid '70's the ****ing competition started.

it was really only Land Rover v Patrol v Landcruiser with Suzuki and Diahatsu offering the small ones.

Since that time I would estimate that every vehicle manufacturer has introduced a 4wd ute, dual cab, wagon in various stages of trim, engine power , drive train , wheel/tyre combination and suspension package.

There has only been one make has hit the top of the tree and remained there. There is absolutely no doubt why .The ****ing competition goes on and owners justify their purchases.....mostly because they purchased what they could afford.

My neighbour is a fleet sales manager for "that" vehicle make at the top of the tree. He is totally unconcerned about Land Rover or any other brand. He said he rarely has to compete against any other brand unless its in lowest market segment where those who can't afford shouldn't really be purchasing.

I wrote this just to vent because I get sick of hearing from Land Rover owners . The best 4wd is the one you can afford and enjoy.

I too have noticed an alarming trend on this Land Rover forum of users predominantly writing about Land Rover's....

maybe if someone is sick of Lr talk or LR owners they shouldn't be on a LR forum, interesting concept some may not understand

I’m guessing Mr Rambling is rambling. Comes with being in their 80’s I guess. “When I was a lad….”

Well, it sure seems you have come to the wrong place to vent. Are you aware of the name of this forum?

To others: I apologise for feeding the "troll"

Alzheimers is a condition we need to consider. Maybe he didn’t realise he was signed in here. Maybe he thought he was on the Tojo forum

I earned my place in this forum as a Land Rover owner.

I learnt to drive in Land Rovers over 65yrs ago.

I have owned , part-owned and driven all the series land rovers extensively and participated in the trials and selection of project Perentie for the Royal Australian Army.

I have never been blinded by the rhetoric but I congratulate the 663 on winning the road test.

    Just sayin'.....ok?
