    Auto hold brake function

I really like the auto hold function when sitting in traffic etc, but its a pita for parking say in the garage or a public car park, as it will engage before getting into the final position, then the car lurches forward at risk of hitting something if youre not quick enough on the brake.

The 1st gearing is so low that the car moves off just by lifting off the brake, which is good for parking, but a hassle at lights, (but it doesnt do this with auto hold engaged.)

So I turned it offand had to go back to the old habit of sittinng at the lights with right foot on the brake. So last century....ugh.

Found out the other day, with auto brake hold turned OFF in the pivi pro screen, that you can engage auto hold 'on demand' by a firm press of the brake pedal when stationary at the lights. Auto hold engages, the hold green letters appear on the dash and functions as per normal.

When parking the car, (remember that auto hold is not turned on in pivi), you can still creep nice and close, I use the cameras and I have a preset reference point in my garage that I aim for that ensures the garage door doesnt hit the spare wheel and the good lady wife's car will still fit in beside the L663.

Nice touch by JLR in the functioning of the system. Well done.

Before discovering the pivipro switch maneuvering in tight spaces was a scary experience lurching towards obstacles! I've had to adjust from feathering the clutch in the old one to understanding the inherent creep that the auto box can provide. Frankly, I still prefer the nuance of the manual transmission.

Same here, prefer manual as well, however being able to control auto hold via the brake pedal OR pivi screen is a nice touch. Ive now left if off in pivi, and just manage via the pedal, nice and easy.
