He showed more interest than LR did. Says it all really.

well LR has seriously had its nose put out of joint......history or not.

LR s1 was first vehicle I ever drove at a very young age 5/6 if I recall.

in a few weeks I hope to meet the woman who was in the passenger seat that day.

now someone , perhaps its new owner should pen Jue477's history.

there must be previous owners with stories and photos or maybe one of the original Land Rover magazines could do a commemorative edition based around JUE 477. I'm quite sure costs would be covered.

    Could I order 1 please?

Does anyone know what Jim Ratcliffe bid for JUE477?

And how much was spent on restoring it?

I’m just curious, but can’t find any reference online…

i doubt you will ever find out the exact costs, but he would have spent more than lots on it.

They also say it was the first vehicle that many laid eyes on,more so in places like Africa.

It was definitely the first vehicle i ever rode in,same for my four brothers, and was the daily until around '75.

We toured all over the place in it,not just in Aus,but also in West Africa, and the UK.

The last trip was Fraser island, around 12 months ago.

Yep, he's a big deal amongst big deals. I think the $ value would have been trivial in his world.
