It has been a slow week for me, too many shifts at 3 different places:(, anyway yesterday the good wife went to pay the registration on 113-372, but the RTA wouldn't let her as I hadn't signed the back of the form WTF:mad: B/S if I ever saw it!!, anyway this morning I took myself down to the local, and 35 minutes later I walked out all done n legal.
Off to the local metal merchant to buy a length of 10mm x 3mm flat bar, this enables me to attach the rego/plates to the grille at the front, and to it's ARN plate on the rear. A quick check of all the wheel nuts, secure some loose items inside the vehicle, roll up the back flap, connect the battery, grab camera, and here is the shakey run around the block

the microphone on the camera is super sensitive, it picked up sounds I couldn't hear LOL, from the vibrating tool holders on the LH wing to ropes n canvas flaps flying in the wind, anyway at this stage I'm reasonably happy with it, tomorrow I will tighten up all the suspension and take it for a longer run with a 110 escort LOL:p:D just in case!!, anyway cheers Dennis:angel:
ps I know the handbrake works well, the engine was struggling against it in the first few seconds LOL,,.

Yep Awesome, I'm definitely motivated to restore another one but this time try to do it to Dinty's standard! think i'll fail to make it to his standard though.

Well, I dunno!!!, what I have done in a past life :o:( as this afternoon I took 113-372 for a short run approx 10ks, and I had to return as none of the blinkers or brake lights worked.
A quick check revealed the fuse blown???, I replaced the fuse, but still no blinkers or brake lights???, the regulator box is very warm to touch, the only item that I have fitted today was the Siren, it's all connected and works A1, well tomorrow is another day (that I can't afford:() well time for a port n coke LOL

Dennis,

Sounds like the (current) points in the regulator are welding together & not disconnecting when the battery is fully charged. OR they are set at a current too high (on the current coil) or voltage too high (on the voltage coil)

Also:

Check the wire colour connections to the regulator (hint: Don't look at the Vinwire numbers :mad: check in Chapter 9 of the LR manual's circuit diagram)

A pity you're not just down the road. I would have it sorted um....m..m.. maybe as quick as my brakes.:cool:.

well after a frustrating few hours I managed to pin point the issue, the fuse box was the culprit. Sometimes it would allow current through the fuse to the opposite side then again it wouldn't, so I removed it, grit blasted it clean remounted it etc and it all works fine now:D, what a way to waste half a day, cheers Dennis:(:wasntme:

Operation Rubic's cube in play again today, I've got them all where I want them :), a parcel from the UK arrived Tuesday with NOS parts for 113-372 + fuel pump repair kit, genuine AC unit

the rubber joint between carburettor & elbow is not available here in Oz, it's ex mod stuff see NSN

I did buy a short length of straight radiator hose, but it was too thick in the wall, looked like the rubber had been using steroids:(.
My electrical gremlin has crept back in, fuse keeps blowing when turn signals are activated:(:(:mad:, I have the dash back out, but have run out of daylight, way too many items that needed attention, but with only 2 arms etc well you know the rest, tomorrow hopefully will be better, cheers Dennis:angel:
