    109 LWB GS Shocks?

    Howdy,
I've got another thread going in the series area about some noise I've been trying to sort for longer than I can stand to talk about!

Any ways, I'm thinking my shocks are too short. Can someone please give me details of their shocks (brand, number, etc.). This is what someone sold me a couple of years ago as correct for the military extended shackles on the front>

    BOGE

    ▷▷▷ Shock Absorber
    Nr art: 32-766-4
    EAN: 40 10305 05534 2
    automatic Shock Absorber
Fitting Position: Reinforced Version: Axle Vers.: 109", 119" mm

The same group sold me the rears, so guessing their wrong too. PLEASE GIVE ME FRONT AND REAR NUMBERS.....thanks!

    Cheers,
    JRW

110/RRC/Disco1 rear shocks are the perfect length for a 109" GS rear, and will bolt straight on. They are about 2" longer than OEM GS shocks, but OE shocks are too short.

On the front I still have the OE monroes (reconditioned). I can grab the numbers off them for you, but they are not made anymore.

    Thanks mate!

I'll wait and see if anyone else comes up with some other numbers. However, when you get time, your numbers might help me come up with some cross references....

The Australian military series 2A Landrover was modified here by Australian Defence Establishment after rigorous testing in preparation for service in South Vietnam in the 60's using then current spares and equipment available,Monroe Whylie was then one of Australia's major parts suppliers to the auto industry, and those were chosen.

The Aust 2A became the basis for the English LWB "1 Ton" using the Australian modified military 2A,but using 9.00X16 wheels and tyres this vehicle was never released in Australia

The only numbers I have for the Australian military 2a both LWB & SWB all variants are

    Front--- RTC-4231

    Rear---RTC-4233

That also includes the Series 3 military LWB

    cheers

    Thanks Uncle Ho!

I ordered in a pair of the RTC-4231, thinking that I had the wrong shocks on the front. When I ordered them, the parts guy couldn't tell me the Boge number-just the Rover Number.

They arrived today and of course they are the same shock that I already have on the vehicle.

I guess the next thing to do is to swap the right and left shock and see if the noise changes sides......

Thanks guys, I'll post back here when I figure something out.
