Hi Tim
There was a period when the Army bought some Defender TD5s, they are often called "remediation Defenders". The TD5 is a 2.5 litre turbo diesel with 5 speed box, essentially a civvy spec vehicle with modifications to the front dumb irons for the Army bull bar and the lifting capacity.
The Remediation Defenders were either MY2000 or MY2003
If you're going to buy one, the 3.9 Isuzu diesel with the 4 speed box are the ones to get. Almost bullet proof. The remediation vehicles while they perform on road can have reliability issues with the TD5.
