    Morning

    A quick query about an impco 225 before I dismantle it, does it have the little plate behind the diaphragm that bends on backfire same as the 200?

    This is the Melbourne purchase, was going like a dream until yesterday, daughter drives up to an intersection, stops, starts to proceed car jerks, increase and decrease in revs, pulls over, idling perfectly, moves off, same then backfires, urgent phone call to Dad, switch over to petrol, runs perfect, still is, haven't tried it on gas again, not too sure what damage any additional backfires may cause to MAF, the system does not have a blow off section before the MAF. Have had a quick look for possible air leaks, none immediately obvious.

    Had already ordered the bits for the bee-utey conversion, maybe the prince of darkness felt he should give me a little slap.

    Same deal, under the bell shaped adaptor is the diaphragm cover. Sometims a backfire breaks off one of the cast supports for the diaphragm chamber, then it's bin material. More common on 425 mxers though.

    Oh, and adjust the plug gaps to 0.7mm and the timing to 10 degrees BTDC.
