Price of LPG...what the!!???

Courier Mail, Wed. 7 March, 2012. Article relating to taxi industry. In part;
"In just 5 weeks, LPG has jumped in price from 58.9 a litre to 91.9 at some service stations." "Niki Kormendy from peak motoring body RACQ,yesterday blamed the price hike on 'tensions between Iran, the European union, and the United States'. She said heavy demand during the extended cold snap in Europe had also driven up the cost of LPG, which was now 25c a litre higher than at the start of the year.' We expect the average price of LPG to escalate to at least 85c a litre by Friday, setting a new record for LPG prices.' Ms Kormendy said.

We have plenty of LPG, in this country, is this another example of sell it overseas, @ they sell it back to us at a higher price. People can talk up the mining industry as much as they like, I don't see much to be confident about our Country's future, sorry to say. Surely tha ACCC or someone should be able to take action - the price of gas should not be linked to the petrol prices, so why the high prices?

A lot of LPG for automotive use is a a by-product from the normal petroleum refining process. If the price of oil spikes so does LPG.

Now, where did I put those plans I downloaded a few years ago on how to build a wood gas producer?

Sure, but how much is petrol? LPG price plus 25% to 30% gives the equivalent price for petrol, around $1.30 -$1.40. People put on all sorts of evil devices that claim to save 10%-20% of running costs...

Well its now up to $1.14 petrol is $1.59

About 2 years ago we sent them a letter with pics of the price gouging by a caltex servo in albion park along with the bp(who was only 10c higher than the locals in dapto and shellharbour) who during the christmas school hols had a 20c/litre excess to the 7-11 over the hill opposite the shellharbour workers club. They did this for years as Tourists from sydney heading down the southern caravan parks would drive down the coast and decide to top up at the first garage in 80-100k's.
Their response was basically tough luck and go elsewhere, which is alright for me as Im local but basically saying stuff every other holidaymaker who is not familiar with the area.:mad:

Last week i was driving through Braeside and gas was 69.9c at a Caltex servo which had the 4c dockets.The other Caltex in Cheltenham was 89.9c and on the same day.This one didnt have the 4c dockets.And Shell was 79.9c all on the same day.How does that work?????? :mad::mad:
