That is what some bad mechanics call a boomerang job.
They screw the customer more than once.

Some people can actually read the words and realise what is being said.
Pics are not always needed to get the message across, your continual montage of clippings does get annoying at times.

I hadn't bothered replying to this thread because, without pictures, it's basically worthless. I mean, if the gas computer fitment resulted in a hole on the dirty side of the element, who cares, at least the computer keeps cool. On the other hand, if it was fitted with a rough hole on the clean side it would be quite stupid. I agree with Pedro.

even if its being installed on a four wheel drive vehicle which may or may not at some time in its future be used in a river crossing !!!!I mean, if the gas computer fitment resulted in a hole on the dirty side of the element, who cares, at least the computer keeps cool.

At which point the owner may, after every other electric connection emits acrid smoke and bubbles, realise that an Isuzu powered Deefer would have been a better choice!!!
Anyway, the job looks pretty rough but shouldn't affect the gas ecu, they are quite water resistant. More likely the extra dust getting in the box might warrant more frequent element changes.
