    lpg stupidity

    had a customer come in this morning with starting /running issues on petrol checked the codes came up with maf so I removed the top of the air cleaner and the element to find the lpg installers had cut a rectangular hole in the airbox and screwed the computer into the base of the airbox !!!!!!!!! what the hell were they thinking ?

    but this was done by an accredited lpg installer in Melbourne !!!!!

    Keep the computer as close to ambient temp as possible?

    Some people can actually read the words and realise what is being said.

    Pics are not always needed to get the message across, your continual montage of clippings does get annoying at times.

    I hadn't bothered replying to this thread because, without pictures, it's basically worthless. I mean, if the gas computer fitment resulted in a hole on the dirty side of the element, who cares, at least the computer keeps cool. On the other hand, if it was fitted with a rough hole on the clean side it would be quite stupid. I agree with Pedro.

    for those that could not understand what srewed to the bottom of the airbox meant
    I mean, if the gas computer fitment resulted in a hole on the dirty side of the element, who cares, at least the computer keeps cool.
    even if its being installed on a four wheel drive vehicle which may or may not at some time in its future be used in a river crossing !!!!

    At which point the owner may, after every other electric connection emits acrid smoke and bubbles, realise that an Isuzu powered Deefer would have been a better choice!!!

    Anyway, the job looks pretty rough but shouldn't affect the gas ecu, they are quite water resistant. More likely the extra dust getting in the box might warrant more frequent element changes.
