There is (was) a place in Bayswater Vic called Smithys who used to do a conversion to the rear chassis of the Range Rover. Had mine done in the old car. The rear chassis rails are cut behind the axle and a new wider gussetted section is made. I had two tanks running east-west that gave 126 litres usable and had no worse ground clearance than the original fuel tank.
That combined with a 20 litre quarter panel tank and two sill tanks and I had 236 litres of fuel.

    range on lpg

A mate of mine had me fit two LPG tanks into the back of his Disco series 1 because he wants maximum range. They were 285mm diameter APA tanks, one 1100mm long and one 1500mm long. This way he gets 120litres of LPG and still can load some luggage on top.
