Most areas in Barrington are closed seasonally, they close from July to sept or oct, I think, but yes there is a fair bit of 4wd traffic up there and dirt bikes getting in where the tracks are closed. That photo of the snow was taken in August so we might have crossed paths. which side do you come in from? scone or Gloucester?
I tried fishing Wallingat with pilchard at arvo->night pulling up one huge Eel, I'm still yet to go back and have another crack, might go this weekend for a camp and fish as I've gotten a new fly for my tent (burnt the old one putting it up near a gas lamp in high winds at Barrington by myself)

I've been in and out of The Tops from all directions, including the south before it was closed off. Last trip entered via Gloucester and Curricabark and came out via Upper Bowman. Needed to do some slick talking to the property owners to get through a few locked gates though!
Let me know how you go with the fishing if you get back up to Wallingat soon.
