Strange we were all there at the same time probably same day, I looked after his dog at the gate house while malcom had lunch waiting for the rear door seals to be fixed (letting in dust)

I started at JRA in late 1989 & went just before the bust up in June 1991.
If you manned the gatehouse, you might remember the workshop apprentice with the Morris Minor (I'm trying to remember which one I drove then, it may have been the rough looking panel van then).

This has nothing to do about nothing, and I know this thread hasn't been visited for months, but if we're into name dropping with the Bush Tucker Man I can add my two bobs worth also.
I drove for the Capricorn Roadhouse at Newman in 1996 when we had the contract to supply fuel, water and beer between Wiluna and Broome for the Land Rover Calvert Centenary Expedition. Les somehow got roped into part of this and I don't remember why, but I had to tow his trailer from the fuel dump at Well 23 on the Canning Stock Route, over the sand dunes to the camp set up adjacent to the air strip.
I did meet him a couple of days later, he flagged me down and gave me a serve for driving too fast along the Talawana Track.
There you go, that is my claim to fame...

    Thanks Gab

Just sat there and watched bush tucker man on YouTube for a couple of hours, really enjoyed myself, nearly fell into the camel trophy trap.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I am led to believe the white 110 county is still alive and resting. We (Nan & I) had a cuppa with the owner late last year. It was a chance meeting when we both arrived at the same servo (us in the S3 and him in his Defer wagon).
