Navy had a few - basically standard civy 130s with a couple of accessories fitted to suit their role - diving teams had some.

Indeed muppet, looks like a 300tdi to me. I love how he calls it a "special Isuzu 2.5"

my 1996 300Tdi 110 wagon was ex Army from Qld. I bought it at 3 years old and 38K. It was one of a batch of 8 auctioned off at the time. Rear seats looked like they were never sat in. Oh yeah, it was white, had an ARB bullbar and tow bar. no aircon

Looks like good buying at that price... if closer to home I'd be looking more closely.

I'm only new to the forum, and am slowly learning (but still know very little).

Is it just me, or does this seem like a great buy?
I thought the earlier 300tdi's (mechanical) were the pick of the bunch?

I know the Navy had a few when I was in over 10 years ago.

The only reason I ask this is because I'm planning on buying one of these in about 2 years time.

I would be buying it now if not for the missus insisting on buying a commodore for herself with the money from the sale of my GU Patrol

So it looks like i'll be without a 4x4 for the next 2 years
But i'm not bitter about it at all.

I guess there are perfectly valid reasons why people might say that about Isuzus, TD5s and Pumas as well, to me it all comes down to what your priorities are. I like my 300 Tdi but I think I'd be happy in an Isuzu too.
