I hear you - I haven't paid for fuel for a daily driver for nearly 20 years but I only noticed it had got so high when the pump clicked over the $100 mark the other day - not something I've seen before.

Now why is diesel so much dearer than unleaded?
Used to be a lot cheaper as costs a lot less to produce.
Why arnt the earthmovers and farmers complaining?

Demand, more diesels on the road......not enough processing capacity and or storage

Funnily enough, not enough demand used to be their excuse for diesel being dearer!

I remember pointing out to someone 20-odd years back, that a tank full of fuel then cost more than the monthly repayments were on the first new car I ever owned!

They get about a 38% rebate I think, to counter the 'road tax' component of diesel, plus buying in bulk it is a bit cheaper.
