    Perentie 6x6 PTO Query

Does a rearward facing PTO exist for the Perentie 6x6 transfer case?
Already has frontwards drive to winch but the rear cover plate appears to allow for rearwards exit?

I am not sure, but I think it is either/or. That is, it can be set up for front or rear PTO but not both, However, I expect someone will know for sure.

(The LT95 was originally designed for the 101 with a powered trailer.)

    Hi Dabbler,
The rear PTO is driving the rear axle.

If he has a PTO driving a front winch already, it will be a bottom PTO, which replaces the bottom cover on the LT95. And I think these can be set up to output to the front or the rear, but not both.

You are correct, the "normal" PTO position on the LT95 is used on the Perentie to drive the third axle - in the original design for the 101, this drove the powered trailer (which, as a bit of trivia, was pretty much a flop in practice).

    Lower PTO rear facing cover

Thanks for the answers - yes the upper PTO drives the rear diff. The two lower covers on the LT95 are the Left and Right handed same bolt pattern- see photo of rearward facing cover with the activation cable for the front side PTO. The cap shown appears to be on the centrline of the front PTO drive shaft but I have to drain the transfer case to see if there is a male or female spline on the backside which could be used. Hence the above query to save me the effort!RearCoverPTO_IMG_4510.jpg

there isnt, that nut covers access to the back of the torque limiter which takes up the splines on the pto shaft.

    Drive Solution Plan B

Well the consensus is that no rearwards drive is possible from the lower back cover.
Plan B is to use the existing front going winch drive shaft by mounting another pillow block UP205 under the existing, add a sprocket to each shafts, chain & simple tensioner with the new rearward shaft about 1.2m long, running along the chassis past the muffler into the proposed hydraulic pump (for the cargo tray hoist). The pump is mounted on the inside of the chassis and the oil reservoir on the outside of the chassis.
The winch and hoist would NOT be used simultaneously.
Any comments or done-it-before experiences out there?

umm, you have a hydraulic pump...

put a diverter block on the power steering pump and use that.

you could also replace the existing pump with the larger one out of one of the trucks and if you dont have the 24v alternator you could mount a dual belt driven hyd pump in its place.

if you do have the 24v alternator fit a 24v electric hyd pump and use that.

Thanks Mr BlkNight for the 24V suggestions.
I have the matching "tipper" bits from a wrecked Ford Trader (Oil reservoir, controls, 4 stage ram with trunion & bearings, and PTO driven pump (was coupled to the lower bolt-on PTO case bits for a Ford/Mazda gearbox which I also have). The gear pump (PZB 3116043) power & torque requirements steer me away from electro- drives given the 2T load capacity of the Perentie tray.
Some more thinking or a compromise may be required me-thinks?

Electro hydraulic pump would do it easy and be a snap to fit up compared to a belt driven setup IMO.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
