    6x6

Has anybody got a 6WD they use as a daily driver ?
I am toying with getting one to use as my main vehicle .
I currently drive a 97 130 and find it fine as my every day transport .
Are there any things that are hard to live with , noise , road speed , parking , rego. cost , width, is it wider than a std defender [ coastal tracks etc ] are they a good off roader ?
I am not a city dweller , will be using for - tradie work ute , boat beach launching , camping & long distance travel etc.
would be keen to hear from anyone with every day experience .

You might need a Light Rigid licence to drive one - GVM greater than 4.5 tonnes.

I am seeing vastly differing reports on their sand driving prowess , some say great & some say woeful . Anyone with soft sand experience . consensus seems to be original tyres are not good , too stiff maybe .

I built this up on a prototype Army chassis 20 years ago. No trouble on a short trip out to Poeppels Corner and back.
Admittedly it came with Borg Warner rear axles fitted with factory diff locks. I fitted Michelin 255-100-16 XZL tyres though. Driven on standard Licence.
