Received these today of 27744 in Palmerston NT, Thank you Mr Jared Archibald.

This is the block of steel welded into the track to prevent anyone from moving the tank.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Yep, I have that one 27742 I think,

1st Armoured Regiment has one too 27777,

These tanks however are not apart of the RSL gift. That's why they are not painted. That will most likely go for any other Leopards that get posted as holding ground on any other base. There is rumor and only rumor that the RAAC Association or the 1st Armoured Regiment Association will be given custodianship of a running example.

For the display yes, but if it was operational then you can loose up to 40% rubber before its time for replacement.

    Easo,

I had a chat to the lovely lady on the desk at Bribie RSL last night and their tank is still in the NT. She was not aware of the number they were getting and we both wondered how they intended to get it over the bridge to Bribie. It is fairly narrow and doesn't look like it would stand up to the extra load.

Does the bridge have a weight limit on it? I sure the disposal project team would have conducted recon before delivery. The Leopard is only a Medium Tank and in its deactivated state will only weight 40-42 ton with a width of 3.37m. They may have to close the bridge off to all other traffic while the float crosses.

Whats the biggest thing you ever seen cross it?

have seen a few big floats with big dozers on them over the years.

it should be fine, but they will have to close it while they take it across because of the width.

be an interesting watch when they do it tho...
