I have just emailed the following to the Grays contact - be interesting to see how/if they reply and if they act. on it...

You may wish to have someone review the descriptions of the Land Rovers for sale in Townsville. For example, there are eight soft tops listed as FFR (which means they have wiring, battery compartments and control panel not found on GS) yet these are all GS Models. Given this gross error, how reliable is the detailed description? And what legal responsibility will you have if a buyer relies on the description? After all, you have advised that inspection is recommended but that is to determine the quality of the goods: a buyer is entitled to rely on your description in determining the nature of the goods.

Geeez, these people are good .... now we have a cargo softie at Minto (lot 38) with the correct blue slip but the additional piccies are of a mog.
Sounds like the person with the scissors and clag is around 3YO. (with appologies to all 3YO's of course).

Oh, and did I mention the useless additional mini pics in the Cheltenham (Melb) auction? Using a maggie lite, they are illegible, even on my 23" HD screen.

When they say ... 'End Time', is that the time remaining til the collapse of the auction, in chaos, or the time they have left to fix all these errors?

    You have to prove intent.
I think a reasonable person would not argue with 'careless and sloppy'.

It's grays online. IMHO it's deliberate and intentional.

    Winch

A friend of mine just bought an FFR from a private seller. It does not have a winch and he asked me what winch was used originally on the Perenties and what winch brands will fit?

    Any info appreciated.

Don't buy any components until he has sourced the drive that bolts onto the t-case.....they are rare as hens teeth

Why would it be a mistake? Wouldn't you be simply wasting your time placing a bid of $2009? To have any serious hopes of securing a complete running 4x4 for less than $6000 means you have not done your research properly on previous auction results. Sure, transport costs from Townsville or Darwin might reduce the bids that Southerners are willing to throw at those vehicles, but there is enough previous evidence to show that there's a very high chance that most of these vehicles will be around $7000+ Drive Away, with many going over the 10K mark. Anything less is delusional.

The standard winch fitted was a Thomas 8000lb PTO-driven winch. If you cannot source a PTO drive for the LT95 gearbox/transfer, then a regular electric winch (Warn, Ramsey, Ox, Runva, TigerZ, Aldi, etc, etc) of between 8,000-12,000lb will fit in the space behind the bullbar, but he might need to source or fabricate the mounts and fairlead (which were part of an alternate centre section of the bullar).

Because an autobid will still go to your maximum but let you get it for less if bidding runs out. Might be thousands or only one hundred you save but you can't be worse off autobidding. You can spend more than you need to with a standard bid.

That's not delusional, that's using the auction to your best advantage.

    Is it a rebuild?

In the Townsville auction (in which all except one LR have been re-described as Cargo, not FFR) one of them has a different camo pattern. Would this indicate it is a rebuild?
