I am just watching a No5 trailer in a bidding war at Grays. Most trailers sold between $700 and $1000, this one is currently at $2300.

I bought another, on behalf of our daughter in the NT.

I was watching the Auction as I was bidding on one or two ( don't tell the missus) of the wrecks.
There is no doubt that if the bidding keeps going due to new bids or a continuing bidding battle & it goes into overtime, then all those that missed out jump in & have a go. I'm just going thru the results now & its clear that there is a up to $2,000 difference for similar vehicles and the dearer ones sold as late as an hour after last call.

BTW I missed out, freight was going to be $880- $980 and that made me think of just getting a good one & drive it home..

    $6509- $6909 x 3 - 1 was ordinary
    $7009- $7909 x 8
    $8009- $8909 x 15
    $9109- $9309 x 2
$12,209 x 1 Bidding war, nothing special about it.
    $12, 809 x1 ( Surveillance Hardtop)

Probably some others but you get the idea.
There was also a refurbished wreck that went for $5709- no winch.

As discussed before as a probability, export is now occuring.
I am aware of vehicles going in all directions.
5 vehicles from the December auction are in NZ by now.
Don't expect to get one for <$5K at auction anytime soon.
Expect second hand prices to drop as people break expensive componants and financially 'walk away' from the Perenties.
I recommend budgeting to buy a complete vehicle and a wreck for spares, especially a 6x6!
    Cheers, BDave.

Agree totally. I suspect the high prices on carsales etc. is giving folks a false sense of value at auction.

With anther 2,000+ Perentie's still to be sold surely it's only a waiting game before number of vehicles sold satisfies all those who wanted their toy NOW and were prepared to pay extra (read loose money) for it.

Hopefully prices come down soon, cause I'm loosing patience!
