    And so it begins...
The great confusion as (even a couple of years down the track) many units will still be operating the same vehicles driven by a lot of civvies

That looks to me light the Delta Dogs (DCoy51FNQR) heading out on patrol!
    Note;
Hession skirts attached to the brush/ bull bars (rolled up and held in place by occys/ rubbers cut from tubes)
ROPS visible behind driver confirm ID as an RFSV
Looks like SRV-style cam pole/ junk holders attached to the tub abover the rear wheels.
Hmmm. Odd though, No spares on the ROPS wheel brackets (inside)
The plate looks mil, Sure it was WA reg? looks like it could be 51-6..
If it wasn't in service, then they are sadder than me, even

    Cheers, BDave.

Possibly. Do serving vehicles have registration labels?

I see your point, looks Army to me too, but would not have thought an Army dude would wave at a White Defender towing a Caravan , will see if there is a clearer frame on the dashcam to post.

also when it drove past the Tyres sounded louder than the truck, almost like bar treads

Mick, I was looking closely at that as well. Incongruous. Blknight might be able to ID if it is a mil sticker of some sort. It seems the wrong dimensions to me. If not Mil, then Parks access type sticker or something (but the Army doesn't need those).

Bushie, When I was in the drivers seat, I did plenty of waving!
Remember, RFSVs are driven by locals in Cams search 'RFSU' for explanation.

    Don't the RFSVs have Hi-Milers?
    Could explain the noise
Definitely looks like WA plates to my eyes, but I could be wrong

No they don't have rego stickers.

Bet $50 it's a 'restricted use' sticker! It may say something like 'restricted to 80km/h' due to either old tyres or noise.

    Ooooh yeh, That Hi-Miler hum
s'funny when people compare a Fender to a Disco and refer to noise.
I've done too many kays than I care to recall sans roof/ windscreen a tuning out the hi-miler vibe. just a little bit de-sensitised
