That is a nice looking Dodge WC57 of WW11 vintage and yes, it does belong to a member of the Military Jeep Club of Qld,there were a couple of them that went on that trip.
If anybody is interested the MJCQ is having it's annual swap and show at Canungra Showgrounds over the weekend of 18/19/20th of October.
Camping is available as it is a camping ground with facilities, just check out the MJCQinc website.
I will be going as will many others on this forum as well as some Dodge Weapon Carriers, there will be a variety of vehicles right up to the latest release Landrover Perentie's
cheers

An old school friend of mine, Graeme Walsh, who went on to become Australia's most well known Aboriginal Rock Art expert, lived out at Injune for a while, during which time he bought a Saracen Armoured Personnel carrier, I think it was Rolls Royce powered & 6WD...he also restored a Bren Gun Carrier, which he said demolished Gum Trees like match sticks....I wonder where they are now?
Cheers, Pickles.
Yup! The Saracen was a Rolls-Royce B81 petrol, same motor as the Stallwart but at about 4-5 miles to the gallon they were a thirsty beastie.
Saracen/Saladin got the B80 I think only the Stalwart and Thornycroft Nubian got the B81.
If any Saracen did get the B81 it was only the very last of production and retrofits.
B80/B81 still thirsty beasts, but they are pushing around 11 1/2 Ton, but do have a nice note when idling.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
