    not a landy,but a dunnydore question

    Hi all,
    A mate just bought a 99 vt dunnydore ute,V8 nmanual,not a bad beast to drive,but prefer my disco .
Anyway, the aeriel was broken and we went and got a new one today to put it in. Got home, jacked the vehicle up,undid the wheel nuts and then tried to get the blasted wheel off.We tried every trick in the book to try and get the blasted wheel off, but it remains stuck-more like glued on.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Does anyone know of a way to get the wheel off,but was thinking it its happened to one,it will probably be all wheels that are stuck on.
Its only done 186 thou,so the wheels probably havent been off since new.

It will be stuck on the centre spigot with most probably corrosion.

Whack the tyre with a rubber mallet one side then the other etc , or get down and kick it from under, which is probably difficult.

Once off, make sure you clean up the spigot and put some never seize on it before assembly.

Best lasting passenger tyres in history then

Loosen wheel nuts a turn... Lower to ground...
Reverse - Brake hard - Forward - Brake Hard - Wobble steering side to side...

Its corroded to the centre spigot

Put the wheel nuts back but don't tighten them fully. Drive around the block turning left and right to put some side loads on the wheel.

Had to do this to my Falcon after the aerial was snapped off flush with the guard by a tumbleweed on the way to Winton. Half a day pulling the centre console out and putting it back as the lead is fixed to the antenna and plugs into the rear of the radio, and well concealed by all the panels and crap.

I lost another one on another trip to a cockatoo and have not bothered to replace it. Too much trouble.
