Probably tranfer in neutral & foot on clutch. Worth a try. Most tractors have some sort of ignition lock out

Damned if I could find the starter switch! I found the ignition sw, the starter and its solenoid and rather than spend time tracing the wires back from the solenoid to a push button etc on the instrument panel I just hot-wired the bugger to get the job done.

    Can anyone elucidate?
Is it a MF135 with the "squareish bonnet" (as opposed to the more rounded older ones)? Ours (though a diesel) has a lockout on the transfer case lever. It needs to be in Neutral before the starter will get any power. Could you turn the key to the spring loaded "start" position (i.e. a momentary position like the start position in a car)? If so, and nothing happened, then it possibly could be the transfer lever lockout. (On a diesel, you have to remember to push the fuel cut-off in as well or it won't start either.)

    I have a 135 Petrol and a 135 Diesel!
    Both are key start.
The ratio stick must be in neautral to start them.
There is not a clutch switch.

    Cheers, Mick.

    Ditto,
We had a 135 petrol when I was a kid. Definately key start and an interlock on the range lever.
