I had never heard of this engine until I came across one at a hot rod shop in Cincinnati having a manual transmission, clutch and flywheel attached. It was going into a street rod. Looked most impressive. Unfortunately I did not have a camera with me. Six cylinders in line, 4.2 litres, 24 valve DOHC, aluminium head and block, 270 manufacturers horsepower. Said to be quite light. Used in Chev and GMC SUV's and pickups. If you google, you can find a GM technical treatise.
Might be a good swap for some of Rover's less impressive offerings.

A bit more information about this engine family has come to light. It is also made in 4 and 5 cylinder versions. General parts commonality other than the heads, blocks, and crankshafts.
LK5 4 cyl. 2.8 litres 175 hp.
LLV 4 cyl. 2.9 litres 185 hp.
LL52 5 cyl. 3.5 litres 220 hp.
LLR 5 cyl. 3.7 litres 242 hp.
Any of these would be handy for an engine swap into a multitude of vehicles. I have seen a SOHC Falcon 6 in a Range Rover so one of the 5 cylinder versions would fit.

Is the 5cyl what they use in the H3 ? The 6 looks a lot like a ford DOHC six and see that they also come in a 291bhp version.
Be good in a rod or early holden like an EH.

1958 Holden FC special sedan
Wikipedia says the L52 was used in the Hummer H3 in 2006 and the LLR in 2007-2009.
