    Springover Conversion Question

Have recently done a springover conversion on my 6x4 trailer.

Was wondering about the fact that previously the weight was taken by the ubolts onto the axle whereas now it is directly onto the axle, does it make a difference and which is best.

Did the same conversion years ago on my 7' x 4'6" trailer so the drawbar sat level behind the Defender.

The thing I did like about the conversion was that the threaded ends of the U bolts were now pointing upwards and couldn't drag on anything.
When loaded the U-bolts are only holding things in place (except on rebound) whereas before the U-bolts transferred all the weight to the axle.

Leaf sprung Land Rovers are spring over so must be OK.
