Is the lift pump leaking? It could have a hole in the diaphragm.

I think these have 'in board' injectors like the Td5's.. (Can you see the injectors ore are they under the rocker covers?). If this is the case, the O rings around the injectors need changing as they leak after a while..

Gday just wondering does anyone know if the cab on an acco 1950d will go over further for engine removal

You should be able to get the engine out without removing the cab. We did ours a few years ago without pulling the cab off , just forget now but if you take the retaining strut off you may get it up a bit further but be careful it does not go right over. I would put a bit of rope or wire on it to prevent the cab from going over too far. Altough it will take pressure off the springs, as the cab goes over so will the centre of gravity change. I have the problem of a leaking oil cooler letting oil into the coolant and it appears that I can't buy a new one, so looking at pulling it out and trying to repair it. Not looking forward to it. The VT 190 must have been the worst engine Cummins ever made and you have to drive them like you hate them. Best of luck.

Thanks mate do you know if anyone has ever changed out a vt190 for a 555 or a 903

Both the 555 and 903 will fit, but they are old engines as well. Finding one that doesn't need work may be tricky. What sort of HP are you needing out of the old girl?
