got the engine bay part of the loom in and hooked up to trans!! so progressing slowly!
getting some help with some welding on the cross member, then i can put that in and have trans/motor sitting in exact spot. and got to see where loom sits along the extractor so i know where to put a hole through the firewall. pretty well decided the ecu is going to sit at hte front of the tunnel just tucked up below the dash and ill make a console to go over it. ill add pics later

thought i should actually update this not much progress unfortunately. with the arrival of the impala, that has kind of skipped the queue LOL. still need to run new fuel lines, relocate the oil filter, sort out wiring, do one rust repair before a front end can go back on, and need to change fuel pump to supply enough for the bigger engine hoping in the next 12 months both my metal babies will be looking fine and running even finer

have i not shared my impala on here yet? haha :O its a year next month that i have owned rosie the impala for!!! basically they have been a dream car of mine since i was rather small LOL. (cars always have been a massive part of family life) 67 4 door hardtop being my number 1. like on the supernatural tv show, which i why i watch that show, because has one of my dream cars in it! just the downside to that show has made them extremely hard to find!!! plenty of 2 doors around, which i am not as fond of as i think the 4 door hardtop has the perfect shape and balance! and a pillared sedan one just would not do LOL. i never ever thought id ever own one! she is named Rosie in honour of a wonderful friend who was like an aunty to me(treasured friend, my physio, my riding coach and fellow landrovian). Rosie the human used to intently look at every advertisement for one that came along. which was never frequent as they are so rare. promised me that one day one would come along and stars would align and all would fall into place (being now permanently disabled and unable to work and earn a decent wage i thought the ship had well sailed) Well Rosie sadly lost her battle with depression almost 2 years ago. And randomly, exactly a year later on the anniversary of her death, one came along. my sister found the advertisement. the stars aligned, my wonderful partner told me to not think and just do, a small amount of money had come our way seriously a few days prior. So on the first anniversary of Rosies death, along came my Impala, which had to be named Rosie in my dear friends honour. I am the first owner in australia, and she is in original condition fresh from nevada. So rubbers etc all brittle from harsh sun. Is a runner interior is a bit of a mess, exterior is just the original paint but i love it as the original paints tells the story of her life. she is straight and rust free!! Has taken the last year to collect the parts needed to begin the restoration, as being a single income home with my medical needs haha, finances get a bit tight. But have started slowly changing the seals, collected all needed suspension bushes, and servicing the engine. I was hoping to have her driving on the road already, so that I could use her while my landrover is getting its transmission fixed. she will have to me modified with my spinner knob and the indicator lever extended so it can be used with the left hand. I will also be painting the old girl myself. likely the last car i will ever paint as physically I just cannot do it. i have accepted the fact I will have to have someone else paint my precious panelvan as it is just too much car for me to manage and will be metallic paint, so i want the application to me perfectly even and done at the same time. the impala however will be simple, glossy, classy black. So literally will be painted one panel at a time! i will sit there in the wheel chair and do it if need be too. the interior will be red, not too much, and not to bright, but just the right shade to not be too much red! the quality of these cars still amazes me. they are just built so well. the bench seat even i can slide as it is just effortless. the big doors feel as light as a feather and shut ever so softly, everything fits so perfectly. it is just a beautiful car! i am super scared someone will steal rosie LOL. it would just break my heart if any of my cars were ever stolen, especially that one its not a car i could ever replace, and i still pinch myself every time i see it as it still doesnt feel real haha.
