    G'day Ron,

I was going to come and say hello, but the way things worked out yesterday we just had to get moving so that we could get back to Geelong today. We left Erich's place just before 8 and got to Yass about 10.40 and stayed there. Didn't want to leave any later - I get too tired driving and its not safe. We were only at Erich's for maybe 30 mins or a bit more. If I could have I would have come across to Emu Plains.

So my apologies for not catching up. I certainly will next time I'm there.

Ah, no worries, Willem. I thought you might have been in town a bit longer.

Actually we were, Ron. We arrived Tuesday morning and visited with Erich and Sheila for an hour or two. We then went to deliver the car to the mechanic and we were then without a car till we collected it at about 5 o'clock on Friday night. We stayed in Sydney - near Hyde Park - and spent a few days having a bit of a 36th honeymoon. We had a great time, even if it was a bit longer than planned. We were meant to leave on Thursday morning, but due to changing circumstances that blew out to Friday evening. So if things had gone according to plan we would have given you a call sometime Wednesday to set things up for Thursday. But the best laid plans ...

But we would like to catch up again. I was looking forward to introducing Trudi to yourself and Elizabeth. But it will have to be, Lord willing, some time in the future.

Glad you had a good time and congrats on 36 years!

You would have missed Elisabeth, she's on holiday in NZ.

    Catch you next time.

Hey Willem - was good to catch up with you and Trudi at "the house" on Monday. Hope you enjoyed the tour... you've probably seen parts of it that I've never been to
Sorry I couldn't stay longer... had a heap of work to do... got away about 7pm and then off to the LRC meeting at 8pm where it appears I've been accepted as a member
Glad to hear you got back home safe. How's the motor going?

    Cheers, Paul.

    G'day Paul,

It was great to catch up. We had a good look at the house, as you call it. I am always impressed by the portraits ... particularly of Sir Henry Parkes, the father of federation. Just look at his eyes ... the determination, the vision! We went up on the roof - got some good pics.

Good to see you got accepted! Now you'll be even busier!

We got back fine. Stopped at Yass on Friday night. Got back to Geelong just after 3 on Saturday afternoon. Motor is beaut. Sam did a good job!

Lately i've been looking at ways to run the piping inside the guard from the airbox to the rear of the LHF quarter panel. When i'm home from work next i'm going to investigate options for different shaped pipe and types of joiners and sealing compounds, then a snorkel that has a similar profile to the A pillar on our rangies to see if it can be done without having the body of the snorkel running most of the way along the quarter panel, yet still retain the original air intake location at the airbox.

If I have any luck i'll post up the outcome and tools and gear needed for the job.

My aim is to have an attractive product that wont restrict airflow.

    Cheers

Hi Keithy - I wish you better luck than Andy and me had on that front. The restriction is at the top of the wheel arch, and worse if the inner arch is still in place to get something that is 75-100mm dia equivalent area through that small gap. You could get something moulded in there which would make better use of the available space but the square-ish edges of the mould would likely screw up the air flow a bit... not sure about that, just a theory.
    Cheers, Paul.

Yeah, I havent physically pulled the inner guard out as yet but thought that space would be a restriction. If I can keep the diameter of the pipe the same but simply a different shape I might have a win! Failing that, the inner guard could do with some re-moulding too! Might be the easier way to go about it.

    Cheers
    Keithy
