my heart goes out to you and your family
Got stuck today in my sisters driveway of all places. I went too unlock the door with the key and only the drivers side door unlocked, so when I tried to open the door it wouldnt open. I had to butcher the inside panel to get access to all the locking mechinism. After 20 mins and a lot of swearing I got the bloody thing open but the alarm still keep going off. I unplugged the horn and reconnected all the actuators in the door (not sure they had come undone). It seems for some reason the central locking wouldnt work, using the key all I could unlock was the drivers side door. I disconnected the battery and left it for 20 mins came out and it all worked fine. Can anyone give any ideas as too why the central locking wasnt working? or what I can check?
I now have too hunt on ebay too find a new inside door panel as I broke mine in half too get it off, and that hurt I can tell you.

Had a few light beers have we? If you cant offer constructive advice please dont bother posting.my heart goes out to you and your family
Hey Aussie
It sounds a lot like you need to replace your door latch mechanism.
I did this task a few months ago and did a write up about it.
Also, you can take the rubber tubing off between the drivers door and the car body and check the condition of the 2 wiring looms and connectors that are just inside the body. Apparently these sometimes get corroded and dirty and bugger up the comms between the door latch and the BeCM.
Clean them up and make sure they're healthy. It worked for someone else here recently.

Aussie - check with "andrew e" if he has the door panel. He might have a door latch mechanism too.
When mine was playing up I used the FaultMate (substitute Testbook or other tool as required) to disable the alarm. That way I could still open the drivers door with the key and disarm the vehicle by putting the key in the ignition, turning to second position and hitting the "lock" button on the remote, which would then unlock the other doors and enable the starter.
adm333's advice is good and well worth doing, but since it worked after you reset the battery, I wonder if it is a logic fault in the BeCM. Would be useful to get it checked with a FaultMate, Rovacom, Test Book etc to read the fault codes and identify root cause.
Call me if you want to discuss... you have my mobile no.

Sorry, its probably still a bit too soon for you to have a giggle!
I suspect Aussie hasn't regained his sense of humour... stilll bloody funny though when he ran out of petrol in your driveway Daveis good payout material for a long time yet.
What are you doing up at this time Dave? Kids? My excuse is catching up on my "day job", Hard Range orders/enquires and listening to classic hits on a couple of Canberra radio stations, and escorting the dogs to the outdoor facilites... i.e. "Poo Hill".
Cheers, Paul.

Adm333 and Paul - Thanks very much for the advice and the offer of Help. I'll replace the door latch and clean the connectors. Paul I wasnt aware you could disable the alarm I may have too try that with your guidance. I call you next week too chat if thats ok?
I went too unlock the door with the key and only the drivers side door unlocked, so when I tried to open the door it wouldnt open.
I am a bit confused by this statement, did the door unlock with the key?
I have had this happen a couple of times where the remote suddenly did not work, I opened the car with the key, drivers door only, alarm going off and could not start the car. I entered the override sequence with the key in the drivers door and all was well again. On another occasion I was not far from home so got the spare key which worked via the remote and seemed to re set everything.
sounds like what happened to me the other week one tow truck later and when i got home it was a simple fix, check the connection for the central locking from the door to the body.
