Headed off for a 4 day adventure on Friday morning at 5am. Got about 4 kms up the road and car rose to the highest level and all the EAS lights came on and posted a fault on the Dash. Turned around and went home plugged the Laptop in and reset the codes, I had too drain the air tank and the Airbags, I finally managed too clear it and off we went again 2 hours later.

We got too Doreen and met up with my mate and his wife. We set off and I got about 10k's up the road when it overheated, so I stop and open the bonnet too discover a heater hose had blown. So an hour later the toe truck drops it off at my mates house and there it has stayed until I replce the heater hose next week.

So I've decided too put it up for sale. I really dont have any faith in the vehicle anymore. Shame really as its had so much stuff done too it but the wife is getting really peeved and I cant keep making up creative excuses. Its been great running with the AULRO community but I must now say my goodbyes

Sorry to hear it mate, lousy luck by the sounds of it.

Are you still thinking about an L322 ? or going to give the game away completely ?

Very sorry to hear that Aussie. You've had a bad run with that Rangie by the sounds of it.

It can't be too far from being a solid, reliable vehicle. However, I understand the loss of faith thing too. Once you get that, it's time to let it go.

Perhaps a good project vehicle for another AULRO member?

    Cheers, and best wishes, Paul.

No more RR for me. I am looking at a few other brands, probaly more a navara or a tryton as we need the canopy for all the stuff we take. TBH they all look like crap inside compared too RR.

Never thought I'd be an advocate for a Toyo but... if you're after a cab ute, the new Hilux's are hard to beat, easy to get parts for etc... but not a Rangie by a long shot Mind you, if you have kids the new Tritons have a good back seat, and the new Challenger is essentially a Triton with coil springs instead of leafs.

My wife used to call my last Rangie the "black hole" as it just ate money, and would keep on a bit about getting rid of it. Then she went on a few trips with the 4WD club and came around a bit when it out-performed the "usual" 4WD line-up.

When I drowned my last Rangie, I decided that I'd had enough too... and then my wife slapped me and told me that she knew I wouldn't be happy unless I was driving a Rangie... I love that woman <-- only time you'll ever see me use that emoticon!!

    BUGGER!

Do you know what caused those recent issues Aussie? Or is it just P38 gremlins? I try not to believe in the boogie men, but have been there before.

Have you really, honestly had enough?

If so, do you want to cannabalise it at all? I wouldn't mind some clear indicator & tail lights... and your interior is in heaps better condition than mine... hang on what's the asking price?

Can you give a run down on the vehicle and what it's had done to it?

The reason mine is called "the pretty pig" is because she looks so lovely but eats (my fuel, maintenance, repair, mental and emotional budgets) like a possessed bush pig!!!

My Mrs has never told me to part with it, but I bet she wishes I would some times! I think she understands the 'hobie' type value of the thing...

Funny how its a bit like the sales at myers, A p38 breaks and then all the other members are over it like a bunch of seagulls over some fish and chips. "Squaakkk" "Squuaaak"

It may well be worth getting rid of, as depending on how bad the overheat was, it may have slipped a liner. It may be worth more in parts. Stay in contact and let us know what you decide.

P.S. I'll take the Viscous Coupling
