Thread: Frequency on Aust market key remotes

I'd be interested in finding out too. I was thinking of getting a good S/H unit from a dismantlers and then buying a blank insert from e-pay.

They started out with 315MHz but changed to 415MHz to overcome interference issues.

If you have an early car, it could well have been swapped over to the later system though.

What model year is your RR?

Its a March 97 build. The receiver box has PA6GF30 as the only numbers on it. My remote key (Key 2 the only one that came with it...) has a US/Canada FCC ID number on it. On Range Rovers.net it says Rest of World 415MHz. 315 for NA. Does this give anyone any clues? These guys are quite cheap at 90 GBP, but they are unable to do the 315 MHz.

I'd be very interested in finding out how you go with this as my remoted died and no matter how hard i try I just cant justify the $575 that land Rover want to charge for a new remote!

Certainly my 97/98 Freelander security system fob (2 button) uses 315Mhz - When I needed new ones the cost through Landrover was $190 ea plus one hour service time to program. I bought two of the correct ones for a total of $34 (for two delivered) from ebay UK and found a LR shop who programs them for nothing as a good will gesture hoping you will come back for more major work - works for me.

there is some sort of problem in the "supply line" for factory coded&cut P38keys.
I called a dealership in the London area with a view to faxing him proof of ownership etc and getting a replacement #2fob+key. My daughter now living there was to collect and send it to me... that was the theory.

The parts bloke was most apologetic and said they'd received a bulletin from LR to the effect that P38 fobs/keys were not currently available. I'm waiting for daughter to return to London when she finishes her "Race the Planet" Sahara run (as one does...) and check progress... (some people just go to the seaside for a holiday...)
