if you find with the new tyres and enthusiasm you start rubbing your bumper in tricky spots they don't look to bad trimmed a little bit higher. I'm running 265/75/16 764 bighorns and they scrub like hell on the rear and the sills on the front have been trimmed back 2 1/2 inches to stop them scrubbing.

Cheers wayne! I did the exact same thing with my other P38, I will be removing the lip spoiler before the weekend! For such a small bit of plastic it was hard to remove last time, hope its a tad easier this time!

And unfortunately for me, the spare does not fit in the well! Even deflated its still too big! Maybe when I rotate them in a few thousand k's I might be lucky!

Not too keen to trim guards as yet! When the next set of tyres come, they'll be 33's and I think I might do some trimming then!

    Cheers

it depends on how tall the 33's actually measure as to what you have to trim. a mate of mine was running 33/11.5/15 nexens and my 265/75/16 are taller. on the back you wont have to trim anything either run longer bump stops or put up with the scrubbing and on the front you might have to trim the sills back. as for the trimming process most people do the trimming themselves.

Good luck... I run 33" Maxxxis Bighorns with a 2" suspension lift and I still get scrubbing at the front in access mode.

Stock P38's run 29" OD tyres so you are wanting to run 2" bigger radius and not get scrubbing? You will need to trim a lot unless you always keep the car at high EAS mode.

    Cheers

If you want the tyres for mud you can always drop the width, ie 7" rims and run thinner tyres.

Most of the testing as been done for you.

When he finally gets his back from the workshop!! He's getting a 4L80E put behind his chev 6.5 at the moment!

I went to the farm yesterday and tested them out - see my new thread for a nice little video!

    Cheers

One good thing about your size choice is the spare should fit the well.
    Hi Wayneg,

Are those DiscoII 16 inches rims??

Yes. The car had 18" hurricanes which I think are the nicest looking on a P38.
These Disco 2 rims look pretty similar and obviously fit, Nuts are the same.
