I have the ladder at home but it won't fit the car as it fouls my spare wheel (on swingaway carrier).

    Bugger.

    Ron,

That's a shame. Maybe I can help out... Decide which option you prefer (bumper/ wheel carrier or ladder) and sell me the other one!

I would be absolutely wrapped to have either as I am slowly building the pretty pig into the nations most accessorized p38!

    Hoo roo, Dave

P.s. Would love to have dibs on either part (let me know if you have a $ figure you want), but seriously, you should auction them as they are both rare and desirable.
    Hoo-Roo,

    Dave.

Bad for you but good to know since i'll make a swingaway carrier soon.

Maybe you could lengthen the swingaway arm in order to clear the ladder.

Still waiting for my ladder crossing oceans.

Flo, the ladders Scotty currently makes are for the LHS of the car and suit a RHD vehicle. I suggested he reverse the plans and make them for the RHS of a LHD vehicle.

If you are making a wheel carrier, put it on the RHS (your passenger side) and Scotty's ladder will go on the LHS. Problem solved.

In my case, I could possibly space the wheel out further but it would need a bit of clearance to allow for flex.

Don't worry, every so often, I consider selling the ladder, roof rack. long range tank, and rear bar. I'll never use them.

Scotty is supposed to be sending me 2 ladders. Must chase him up to see where they are.

The ladder should work fine on my blue P38, as the tyre carrier sits to the RHS.

Ron, I want your rack... roof rack that is, to be clear

    Cheers, Paul.

Sorry I coudn't bring them back with me Paul. Apart from Scotty forgetting to meet me in LAX, my luggage was through booked from SFO so I couldn't have added the ladders to my luggage anyway.

Word of warning TRADESMAN BRAND RACK

I have the tradies brand rack with those low mounts.
On opening the sun roof the sunroof contacts the rack!

Down side of this is that the winder mechanism broke when my wife operated the sunroof and kept going. Not her fault by the way.
I now have to remove the sun roof, hood liner, roof rack etc. To replace the mechanism. Really ****ed off as you can imagine.

Will be going back to tradesman racks to get different legs to make sure this does not happen again. To me or others.

My rack was also a Tradies half rack that was at the back of the car. But you are right, the legs are too short. One cannot wash the roof of the car without removing the rack.

Maybe some spacers between the legs and the rack would work. I was going to try that myself.

Re the sunroof, you can replace the mechanism without removing the headlining. I've done it as have many others. The workshop manual doesn't specify removing the headlining. However, there are some very fragile clips.

See http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/vie...=47791#p368632 and scroll down through the pix.

I've sold my rack (and as I don't have a rack, I sold the ladder, too).
