Range Rover P38 Dash Removal Brisbane

    Hi,
I have a 1995 Hse 4.6 chipped with stormer 20 inch wheels.Drives great car in good condition. However the heater core went a year ago so I bypassed that with some accesories from Bunnings. Now my aircon evaporator has a leak .Has anyone in Brisbane had there blend motors ,evaporator and heater core replaced ?If so who by and were the happy with the job.I intend to keep the car at least another three years.

It's a fairly substantial job but from this: evaporator
it looks the best way to approach it. Put the whole dash on the bench.

I've replaced the dashtop on mine like this: Dash Removal and Replacement (Range Rover 4.0/4.6/p38)
and did the blend motors and heater core at the same time.

As I had the heater completely out, I could have replaced the evap if needed.

you could try a sealer for the evaporator. Wurth do a product which they claim seals ac leaks permanently.
95 p38 dash boards can be a nightmare, as the SRS loom is in one piece and runs from under the cubby box, through the dash frame and ends up behind the head lights. sometimes it is easier to remove just the dash skin, leaving the 2 parts of the frame in situe, then dismantle the 2 halves of the heater/ac box.(8 hours instead of 16).

    Good point Rupert.

When I did mine, after removing the top skin (to fit a new one), I found it easy to remove the heater box leaving the evaporator in place.

Thanks Rupert, will investigate the wurth sealer. If I could find someone in Brisbane who can do it in 8 hours I would get them to do it.

Threads merged. Don't post the same question in multiple areas.

I agree. MR automotive in Redcliffe are a good option. They know LRs. Dont know many other good operators in Brissy (yet).

Maybe I should point a bloke on RRNET to MR. He was quoted $800 labour by a Brissie dealer to change the broken door mirror on his L322 Autobiography - the mirror with video camera costs $3200! That's four thousand dollars all up!
