I'm Baaaaccck - Plus I need an Exhaust System

    Hi Guys,

Its been awhile, life threw a big curve ball at me about 7 Months ago, when i separated from my wife. Needless to say, I had a choice, The Rangie or Her. Well I chose the rangie. However my poor old girl has been being a bit neglected, and is in need of some serious attention. Motor needs to be rebuilt for the Third time (never let XXX touch your engine), Gearbox is having problems after being rebuilt 2 years ago. Plus she needs a good cut and polish, and some detailing Plus an exhaust.

Does Anybody have some figures on replacement costs, and recommendations for a good sounding system. I'm not after super loud, just a nice note but super quiet on the highway. And good places around Ringwood. I will probably speak to AMV tomorrow to get his thoughts, but thought i would ask here as well.

    Cheers

    Stu

    Stu:
I got my Exhaust done at Performance Exhausts on New St in Ringwood. Just basically a Cat Back System as I'd damaged one of the Silencers offroading....

It sounds much, much nicer under acceleration, without being overly loud at Cruising Speed.

    Still Single Pipe Outlet....

run a 2 1/2 inch mandrel system, it gives it a much deeper growl.

at cruise you can barely hear it but everybody in a ten block radius knows about it when you boot it. il be running a bigger muffler on the next system.

I recently removed the rear muffler and running a genie sports exhaust. Sounds nice without being offensive and would be cheaper by not paying for another exhaust. Agree with the mandrel bend 2 1/2 if you can afford it.

Mine no longer has the rear muffler and it doesn't sound noisy.

    Is that by choice?

I think i may have to wait now. Just brought some bike racks for the roof bars, so there goes my exhaust money. Besides, if XXX ever get hold of the car again they'll probably screw something else up!

Sort of. I took the P38A in for the chip upgrade at Davis Performance Landys and decided to get a rego inspection as it was due. They noticed the rear muffler was rusting and leaking so they bent up a new rear pipe on the spot and fitted it. I have since bought a rear muffler on a clearance sale from LR and have it in the garage just in case I ever need it.
