    4.6 litre Conrod orientation

I'm rebuilding my 4.6 litre motor.

I know the pistons have a mark on them for front of the motor.

Does any one KNOW which way the flat on the little end of the conrod goes.

Does it face up or down or does not matter?

I am about to assemble the pistons to rods and you get one shot at it.

    Many Thanks

    Jeff

I'm sure it matters and is mentioned in the manual.

I'll see if I can find it.

My pleasure. That info is in the engine overhaul section of the RAVE CD.

    Engine rebuild

    Pedro,
Nothing fantastic, just doing it myself so I KNOW every piece is perfect.

I tried a second hand motor from Triumph Rover, but it died two weeks outside the three month warranty (Lost the top off number 7 piston) and that cost $7500

    SO now it's:
    New Pistons and rings,
    New bearings and seals,
    New cam and lifters,
    New Oil pump,
    New valves,

Only additional item will be an oil pressure gauge rather than the std idiot light.

    Cheers
    Jeff
