Wow, that's quite some list you've worked through
Hi everyone. I have been reading the forum for some months now and it has been very helpful in my quest of improving the condition and reliability of the '96 p38 that I bought. So far I have replaced the roof lining, converted the suspension from airbags to coils, fitted new shock absorbers, lifted the suspension, replaced the rocker gear in the engine, fitted all new cooling system hoses, radiator, thermostat and repaired a number of oil leaks.
The truck still has a few minorissues that have to be addressed but I am happy with the level of reliability that I have reached with it so far. The suspension modifications that I have carried out, using information from the various forums and P38 specific websites, have been a success and have delivered me a very capable vehicle with good articulation and good on-road as well as off-road manners.
I want to thank the members of this forum for their participation - I have appreciated both the individual and combined wisdom of the members and hope to benefit from your insight and knowledge on my ongoing journey with my P38![]()

Shame about the coils, but I can understand the need to have one less thing to go wrong.
Plenty of info here on P38s

Welcome aboard oncoils!
This is the best forum in Aus for info on these vehicles.
If you haven't already, join up and become a financial member... it's a very cheap way of saying thanks to the AULRO Founders/Team for keeping things going on the site and is a very small amount of money compared to the amount you will save with your P38!
Anyway, enough ad's... have fun!

p38oncolis, welcome mate... even though it pains me to say this... I disagree in principle with coil conversions but respect your choice as it appears you looked at the options and made an informed decision.
Look forward to exchanging P38 joys and pains with you.
Cheers, Paul.
