Thread: p38 gearbox advice

hey guys,
iv been having problems with my gearbox on my 99 thor... Even called paul (hardrange) about it n had a sook for an hour... after an hour trip down the hwy, i came to do a 3 point turn and the gearbox wouldnt select any gears, was running fine, no slipping, noises or carrying on... took it to my "RR specialist" <--- yeah right... they told me the gear box is gone, i kept on telling them that there is no way the auto is gone, rangie has done only 185000k never slips, didnt go bang... ended up buying another auto and converter with 115000k on it and had them put it in... A week later, did the same thing, i was ready to push it off a cliff... turns out when they put my new motor in, theres some sort of spacer where the converter is that they put on the wrong way, which ended up stuffing the front pump and converter again... they pulled apart my old auto and it was in excellent condition like i said. SO if your auto DON'T go BOOM and doesnt carry on etc... then most likely it isnt the auto no matter what they say...
