Thread: Rebuilding a 4.6

Following my wife in our P38 tonight, I noticed a couple of little puffs of smoke come of the chimney.. Well it's not going to get better over time so I'm thinking about buying another 4.6 & stripping it & building a nice strong motor over time & slotting it in..

Firstly, where can I get my hands on a 2nd hand 4.6 & secondly, what should I be looking at doing to it?

I will be going with the top hat sleeves but I would like to hear from some of you gurus out there in aulro land with your opinions on cams, pistons, head work, etc, etc Blower yes/no?

I won't be racing it at bathurst next year or lining up beside Victor Bray at the drag nationals but I do want a good strong torquey & reliable engine.
