Don't know about performance but it will affect the sound. Put a nice resonator on there instead and enjoy the rumble of the V8.
    Cheers, Paul.

I don't have one. The increase in noise is minimal.

Have you got a straight pipe or a resonator in place of the back box?

I hacked off the rear muffler hoping for a nicer, cleaner rumble and it is not louder at all!

I suspect it is specifically for lower or higher frequencies (drones or whines), but it made no difference for me. Performance or sound wise. Which is amazing, because in your hands, it is a big and heavy muffler.

I now have visions of replacing the LARGE centre muffler just after the exhaust join with a 'sports' muffler of some kind to let some of the V8 rumble out.

The muffler is designed to reduce the pop, pop, pop sound as each cylinder exhausts. By expanding the volume of the exhaust one exhaust pop gets essentially merged into the ones before and after.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Straight (well, bent ) pipe. No resonator. There is no popping, just a slight burble.
