    Trailer plug

    Just found out my trailer plug is not working as it should. I believe mine is a 7pin small round see..Wiring Diagrams - Products - Narva

    The socket loom goes up behind the osr lamp where the wires are T`ed into the factory plug.
    Question.
    On the factory plug what colour wire does what. RR.net gives completely different colours to whats on my car.
    All i can be sure of is black is earth. I dont need elec brakes and rev lights
    I think the 7pin socket has been wired as if its a 5 pin socket
    so
    left turn =
    right turn =
    brakes =
    tail lights =

    My car is late 99 thor.
    Dont have a meter with me to test myself

    To which factory plug are you referring?

    Disregard RR.Net. Have you looked at the ETM in RAVE?

    Behind the drivers side rear lamp in the cargo area is a plastic cover. Inside there is access to the rear of the lamps and also a white multi plug fixed to the car loom. This plug appears to carry all the feeds for a trailer socket. My socket has the wires t`ed into the wires before the multi plug. I have a pdf of the p38a manual with me but not full rave. no wiring diagrams in the pdf.

    From RAVE, it appears:

    Left blinker = GR
    Right blinker = GW
    Stop = GP
    Right tail light = RW
    Left tail light = RB

    Had to test them one by one so here is the outcome for future reference.
    The Car has a 7 pin flat plug with all the trailer feeds behind the O/S rear lamp assy.

    I have tested just the main 5 but presume there are reversing lights and fog lights on the remaining two if you need them. All are subject to the ignition being on.

    L/H indicator = Green / Red goes to Yellow on the trailer socket
    R/H indicator = Green/ Yellow goes to Green ' " "" "
    Brake lights = Green/ Purple goes to Red " " " "
    Tail Lights = Red/Black goes to Brown ' " " "
    EARTH = Black goes to White " " " "

    Trailer socket is 7pin Small Round

    Are you sure it's GY and not GW for the RH blinker? All the other colours match what I gave above.

    100% green and yellow for the RH indicator. Nice bright banana yellow, not slightly burnt or faded white
