Got a set of BFG KM2's put on today. 255/85R16 (33") same size as the Bighorns they replaced.
First impressions are - wow! the ride is much smoother and quieter.
I now have 10 "spare" wheels/tyres sitting in my backyard. Might have to put something up to the "For Sale"/Marketplace forum.
As I took the day off work, I went down to the Queanbeyan Showground this arvo to lend a hand setting up the fence around the test track for the 4WD Spectacular this coming weekend.
I was invited to have a drive around the track, so I did. Sure the track is designed for brand new 4WD's so you don't expect too much of a challenge... it wasn't but I had fun and the tyres were great, even up at 40psi there were no issues with the wombat holes, ramps, sleepers etc. I think a few people were surprised that the Rangie didn't lift a wheel anywhere on the track, and how much articulation it has. I left in Low-Drive except coming off the steep slope which was down to 1.
I reckon there will be a few broken front/rear spoliers and scraped guards come the weekend.
I heard that the local LR dealer down here declined to supply any Land Rovers for the show. Poor form! Other LR club members have taken Disco 3/4's and RRS over the course without damage.
JLR have been notified, so we hope they will interevene and not miss this opportunity to showcase what "the best 4x4 by far" can do.

Nice work mate! Haven't heard anyone say a bad word about the KM2's... if they wear anything like their AT's, you will be very happy for a long time.

Nice choice Paul! Wish mine were as big as yours! I've done nearly 20 000km on mine so far and the little dimples are still on the tread!

Keith i'm just wondering, is you suspension standard? You've got the exact tyre and size I want to go to.
They could almost be twins, except mine is not as pretty and has bigger feet... it's not for me to say if my extra 3 inches makes a big difference
Benji - stock P38's have 29" tyres. You can comfortably go to 30" (255/70R16) with minimal scrubbing at highway height. My other stock P38 (ahem, I mean my wife's) has been running 265/60R18 (30.5") Coopers while I was swapping wheels and tyres around on my lifted P38. Only got a bit of scrubbing going over gutters at standard height, or tight reverse turns at highway height.

Yeah, what Paul said! I had to remove my front mudflaps when they were new, that's the only place they scrubbed! Stock standard suspension on mine.
If I could do it again I'd go 265/75's... Purely to lift the diffs that bit more.

This may be an ignorant question, But, when fitting 30 inch + tyres wouldnt it be easier to just adjust the height settings in the EAS to avoid scrubbings? That is, recallibrate the heights so the suspension is operating at slightly higher settings for access and highway modes or whatever mode is effected.
